  • I really believe in the power of propaganda now because my generation grew up watching TV shows where major themes were about how America made “mistakes” in the past (slavery, segregation, the Vietnam and Gulf War) but we’re “better” now. At the same time watching a bipartisan effort in slow motion to fuck over the working class and the poor while plunging us into forever wars. And my generation watched this go down and grew up to get into crytocurrency and tweeting in support of Israel and recolonizing Cuba. It’s hard not to be pessimistic. Americans really are cursed.

We also grew up with a detailed knowledge of the causes of climate change from a very young age if we were exposed to any popular media. And yet climate change denialism is still rampant even as all the predictions for what would happen as a consequence of not changing is happening before our eyes.

  • I may have been young but I could read back then and when Bush was doing his campaign there were articles being published in mainstream news magazines talking about who was going to be in his war cabinet and how everyone knew that these people were planning another Iraq invasion. It’s absolutely crazy that this all happened just a few years before the Afghanistan invasion and Americans fell for the WMDs story for years afterward when it was the most obvious bald-faced con ever.

  • Idk if the invasion of Afghanistan was planned in advance or was just an opportunistic war but the Iraq invasion was being planned before George W. Bush even started his campaign.

  • Very interesting that so many anti-burqa/niqab/hijab laws in the western world were all being proposed and passed immediately after the U.S. and their allies invaded Afghanistan and Iraq (to destabilize the region and put Russia on the defensive and of course for profit). Weird that they waited till that happened to suddenly become champions of secularism. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

They literally work every day with very ill cancer-stricken kids who can’t get the vaccine.

    This makes 100% sense.

If you’re an employee of a world renowned hospital and are anti-vax, you didn’t deserve to be hired to begin with because that hospital tends to hire people who understand evidence-based medicine and apply that to clinical practice. If you’re an anti-vax healthcare worker, you aren’t practicing evidence-based medicine and are therefore a danger to patients.
